As if burger fever wasn’t already sweeping the city, now it seems like a patty battle is really about to emerge in the Cow Hollow/Marina 'hood. Inside Scoop SF brings us the news that the infinitely tasty Super Duper burger chain has applied for a liquor license at what's currently the Johnny Rocket's on Chestnut Street. You’ll recall that Umami Burger, much loved by L.A. folks, is also heading to the area this fall and that the perpetually packed Barney’s Gourmet Burgers already resides in the Marina (along with several other spots serving up burgers). This new in-the-works Marina location comes after Super Duper’s recent expansion from its lone spot in the Castro to a new eatery on Market Street, and plans for a venue in Mill Valley later this summer. Can worldwide domination be far behind? We hope not.
