Local Artists And Designers Create Skate Decks For Japan Relief

Get your skate on for Japan this week at the Plywood for Good benefit at Project One. Nearly 30 designers and companies, including Incase, Chronicle Books, Timothy Goodman, and womenswear designer Louisa Parris will be showcasing a series of customized skate decks that will be up on the auction block. The truly unique boards (just look at that number below!) will be joined by other bidding items including a one-night stay at S.F.'s Hotel des Arts, a case of Kidrobot vinyl figures, limited-edition José Parlá products for Incase, Peasants & Travelers bags, and a complete skateboard package from local skate company FTC. Mobile meat peddlers Sataysfied will be on hand serving up satay skewers (the first 50 people through the door get one for free!), and beer, wine, and soju cocktails will be there for the takin'. Kento Tanaka, of BRAZA! at SOM fame, will be providing the beats. Bring cash or check (no credit cards will be accepted), and your meanest bidding face. All proceeds go to Japan earthquake relief.
