Looking to add a bit more local flavor to your closet? Head to Adams Morgan sewing studio Bits of Thread next Tuesday, when local designer Jackie Flanagan of Nana will debut her collection in the very spot the clothes are made. For summer '13, expect soft hues of lilac and plum, spread across a selection of dresses, tops, and skirts. As a bonus, the open-studio session will also highlight a few looks that were made just for the event. Everything is available for purchase, and for good reason — these are the multi-tasking wardrobe staples that you'll wear all year long. “This season is all about easy, versatile pieces that work as well on vacation as at a networking event,” Flanagan says. You know how much we love a good sartorial workhorse — so we'll see you there.
When: Tuesday, May 28, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Bits of Thread, 1794 Columbia Road NW, 2nd Floor; no phone.
