We clearly have been excited for
Magic City
. With the show’s apt location, alluring time period, and sexy cast, we’ve been looking forward to the show’s TV premiere this Friday since the pilot was shown here at Miami International Film Festival. One subject we failed to explore thoroughly, however, was the show’s fashion inspiration (how could we forget?). The Los Angeles Times met up with the show's costume designer Carol Ramsey to talk style, and she opened up about the drama’s demanding fashion needs, dubbing her experience as “the costume Olympics." Taking direction from Morris Lapidus’ architecture (the brains behind Fontainbleau), the style was driven by the luxurious atmosphere of the Miramar Playa, the grand hotel central to the show.
