Armed Forces…Of Fashion? Vets And Models Hit The Runway This Weekend

fashiontakesflight_big
No, the 1st Armored Division isn’t parading down the catwalk (though, we'd kinda like to see that, too). Instead, the fourth annual Fashion Takes Flight charity event is sending servicemen and women (plus a few models) down the runway, in the name of Luke’s Wings, to help support wounded warriors.
The fundraiser, hosted in the Stars and Stripes VIP Lounge of Nationals Park, kicks off this Saturday, February 4, offering a legion of goodies to those who spring for the $85 ticket. On top of seeing service members march down the runway wearing stylish duds by local designers, attendees will sip drinks, nibble gourmet hors d'oeuvres, and hobnob with D.C.'s chic philanthropic set. Private tours of the Nats dugout and batting cages are available to true fans, and, naturally, there’s an afterparty scheduled at The Lincoln. Head over here to snag your ticket.
When: Saturday, February 4, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Where: Nationals Park, 1500 South Capitol Street SE.
