Way Better Than PJs And TV: L’Enfant Cafe’s New Sunday Supper Club

lenfant-slide
Who says the last bit of weekend fun has to end with Sunday brunch? The creators of L'Enfant Cafe and Bar's popular La Boum brunch certainly don't think so. Case in point: They're launching The Speak Easy Sunday Supper Club and Cabaret to help you have just a bit more excitement before Monday morning.
Two Sunday nights a month, starting this weekend, the Adams Morgan restaurant's lights will dim and shades will be drawn, with guests entering through a discreet back door. Once inside, you'll enjoy a three-course dinner while taking in live music and cabaret performances. This week, the featured performer is drag queen Flotilla DeBarge, presenting a special Valentine's-themed comedy show; future shows will be headlined by off-Broadway performer Joey Arias, former host of Cirque du Soleil's "Zumanity" — or "downtown New York's answer to Cher," according to The New York Times. For the 7 to 10 p.m. dinner seating, the prix fixe menu is $50. Come at 10:30 p.m. for a late show and drinks, and pay a $10 cover with a two-drink minimum. Either way, be sure to make reservations, and leave the kids at home —this cabaret is (very) grown-up fun.
Where: L'Enfant Cafe and Bar, 2000 18th Street NW; 202-319-1800.
