Whitney Port On Her Future Fashion Plans (In 60 Seconds!)

It wasn’t the best day to have a pool party on the rooftop of the Perry South Beach Hotel, but despite a stormy Sunday afternoon, former Hills reality star and NYFW designer Whitney Port turned up to fulfill her hosting duties. Port, looking every bit like a glam California beach goddess, came out to her Fiji Water Summer Soak Miami pool party with a group of gal pals. Candid and sweet, she talked to us about why she likes Miami, what her new collection for Whitney Eve is going to entail, and her upcoming jewelry line, which launches during the holidays.

Tell us about your pool party attire!
"I’m wearing a One Teaspoon bikini, a Cameo shirt, and Kurt Geiger sandals."

Why did you decide to come to Miami to host the event?
"Well, I was already in Miami for my best friend’s bachlorette party, so I decided it would be fun to have a pool party!"
What are you currently working on these days?
"I'm working on my Spring 2013 clothing line, and I’m launching a jewelry line called Bits&Bobs."
Tell us more about the jewelry line.
"There’s a lot of mixed metals, and it’s inspired by costume jewelry. It’s vintage and antique looking."

With Whitney Eve, what can we expect to see on the runway come September?
"My collection is based on natural elements, so I’m doing custom prints. There’s stones, braiding, and kaleidoscope prints."

What do you like about Miami?
"I love the warm water, the sunshine, and the tropical weather. It’s fun and there’s a lot of energy here."
What are your future plans?
"I would be interested in doing television again if it’s fashion-based. I was a judge on Britain's Next Top Model and I liked it."
What's your best fashion advice?
"Stick with your gut and know that fashion is an expression of your personality! Wear what you feel comfortable in and don’t just follow the trends."
