Team Spirit For Little Ones — Ditka Style

main
Football season is in full swing and whether or not you're a Bears (or sports) fan, doesn't mean you can't have a little Chicago pride — and by little, we mean there might be a kid or two in your life that can sport some team spirit so you don't have to.
Who better to create a line of children's football apparel than Stacy Ditka, daughter-in-law of the famed ex-Bears coach who still makes us want to get up and do the Superbowl Shuffle. Ditka Kids Gridiron Clothing boasts girls and boys' screen-printed T-shirts and onesies with a soft, vintage-like appearance. Even when there isn't a game on, it's a perfect fall look for all those kids we see frolicking around in Lincoln Park.

"If someone wants an Urlacher jersey, they'll go out and get one," says Ditka. "Those consumers are not my target market. I'm targeting moms, so that's where the fashion part comes in. It's a no-brainer."
Along with being the ultimate source of inspiration for the brand, Mike Ditka is also part owner of the company. Forget the tough-guy appearance you remember from his days on the field. He's heavily involved with charities like Misericordia Heart of Mercy, so you can feel good knowing that Ditka Kids donates a percentage of its proceeds to organizations that help young people with special needs.
Stacy tells us she's currently working on a new collection due to launch sometime in January. Along with clothing, there will be accessories such as caps and hats, too. Of course, Ditka says all her pieces have to be "kid approved" by her two boys first.
Ditka Kids clothing is available online, as well as at these stores around the Chicago area. Oh, and if you happen to be indulging in a steak at Ditka's Steakhouse in the Gold Coast, you can get the goods there, too!
