Cocktail Cravings: Terzo Piano Rolls Out New Sips For Spring

terzo piano chicago spring 2011

A break from the norm every now and then is refreshing, especially when you've got something tasty to sip on. Our suggestion? Take the El over to The Modern Wing at The Art Institute of Chicago, where you'll find one of our favorite restos, Terzo Piano. We won't tempt your tummies with tales of delicious, inspired Italian cuisine (you're welcome), but we will fill you in on new seasonal cocktails up for sips at the bar. This spring, we're craving the freshness of the Whiskey Bianco e Limoncell, a mix of Death's Door White Whiskey, Limoncello, fresh lemon juice, raw sugar, and soda. And if you're craving something more herbacious, try a Giardino Classico, an infusion of Tru Lemon Vodka, tomato passato, fresh basil, green olive, jalapeño, sea salt, and lemon soda. It's hard to imagine so many delicious things in one drink—we're just as impressed at you are, so don't worry. Off the sauce this season? Dip into a house-made soda like the Carrot Caramel, Cranbery Fennel, or Pomegranate Thyme, all pictured here. Bottoms up!

Terzo Piano, 159 East Monroe Street (at Michigan Avenue); 312-443-8650.
