One Opening, Four Events, &…Hand-Made Doughnuts? Yes, Please

We know you're all anxiously awaiting the opening of S.F.'s first-ever CityTarget, but you're just going to have to hold on until October when it flings open its doors.
Until then, there are still some interesting happenings you should know about on the ground floor of the newly revamped Metreon. One of those: tomorrow's opening of the new Chronicle Books shop. And, to welcome itself into the Metreon fold and celebrate its third retail location, the locally based publishing company is throwing not one, but four events.
First up is the grand opening shindig on Thursday, March 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. Stop by and check out the new space, designed by the award-winning Aidlin Darling Design crew (Bar Agricole, Bar Bambino, Wexler's). There'll be editors on hand and perhaps even nibbles, too.

Then, on Saturday, March 10, starting at 10 a.m., grab the kiddies and enjoy a meet-and-greet, reading, and book signing with
Ivy & Bean
author Annie Barrows. Plus, get free activity packs (while supplies last), and enter to win a big book giveaway. Bonus: Stick around for a kids' crafting event from 2 to 4 p.m.

And finally, the one we're really excited about is Sunday's doughnut-ridden shopping day. Staffers will hand out Top Pot doughnuts, flown in from Seattle, alongside delish coffee (of course), in honor of Chronicle's

Top Pot Hand-Forged Doughnuts
. That last one...yup, you'll see us there. It all goes down at the location below.

Chronicle Books at the Metreon, 135 4th Street (between Mission and Howard streets).
