School Days: Study Hall Boutique Opens In West Town

The only good thing about not getting an entire summer off, like we did in our youth, is avoiding the sinking feeling we'd get in our stomachs when it's over.
Those days of gym class and passing notes may be long gone, but there is still a way to get your kicks despite the fact that you're now working 9-to-5. Study Hall boutique just opened in West Town, so get ready to do a little goofing off.
The Ukrainian Village shop carries a variety of unique (if not hard-to-find) clothing, stationery, books, jewelry, and even housewares from carefully selected designers and brands from all over the states.

We're loving the limited-edition Marüshka items made specifically for Study Hall. You may be familiar with the original goods produced by this Western Michigan company in the '70s and '80s (think hand-printed canvases and T-shirts), which are now considered collector's items.

What's with the name you ask? Study Hall really does want you to learn a thing or two, so each season the shop will curate a section of the store to focus on a new "subject." Now, that's what we call creative teaching.
Hours: Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. Expanded hours coming soon. Also open by appointment.
Study Hall, 912 North Ashland Avenue (between Walton and Pearson Streets), 312-733-4255.
