Floral Fanatics, Mark Your Cals! This Signing Is One For The Books

main
Enthusiasts of floral fixtures know that books on the subject often feature out-of-season stems and overly priced picks (sigh). But, rather than dropping serious dough on a loot that lacks any sort of individuality, we've been foraging branches, blooms, and blossoms from our very own backyards! Okay, we confess, we've had a little help from our buds at the farmers' market.

If you ask us, the imperfect nature of these flora centerpieces is what makes them so perfect. So, you can image how surprised we were to discover that photographer Ngoc Minh Ngo (she's snapped for Architectural Digest, Martha Stewart Living, and many more) released an entire tome on rustic roots set against modern backdrops. Titled
Bringing Nature Home
, the juxtaposition is pure home-decor porn, and we can't help but get excited by the plethora of potted inspiration. Yes, we're flower geeks, which is why we're giving you a good heads up about this one.

Bonus: Featured in the book is none other than R29 fave, Erica Tanov. The local designer is known for her colorful pairings and use of one-of-a-kind textures and that aesthetic is reflected in her choice of interior design. If you're interested in learning more about Tanov's floral M.O., head on over to the S.F. designer's Marin store for a signing with Ngo.

When: Saturday, June 30, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Erica Tanov, 2415 Larkspur Landing (near Drake's Way); 415-464-9008.
