Rad or Bad: Are Matchy Matchy Ensembles Ticky Tacky?

We're pretty good at ignoring most fashion rules, but matching your tops to your bottoms puts us a little out of our comfort zone. It's hard to pull off the head-to-toe mono-pattern without looking like you just stumbled out of a slumber party, though, these looks from this season (not to mention Leighton Meester's charming Louis Vuitton outfit she wore to this last Met Gala) have gotten us thinking about the merits of being matchy matchy. But, what say you, tastemakers? Is the formal PJ ok for normal wear, or should matching getups stay under the covers?
