Can't Find Perfect Pants? This Shopping Soiree Could Change That

Around Thanksgiving, it's okay if the word you most closely associate with "pants" is "stretchy" — but come next week, it'll be time to squeeze back into real clothes. And just in time, designer Alvin Valley is coming to town to introduce you to a different adjective in the pants department — "perfect."
The designer's eponymous line of trousers is office-appropriate and classic, but impeccable tailoring and chic details make each pair anything but boring, which might explain why style stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, and Kate Winslet have all been spotted wearing them.
After a three-year hiatus, the designer is relaunching his brand with a special shopping event at interior designer Colman Riddell's home next week — which means you can finally score a pair of trousers that fit like a glove. Stop by on Tuesday night to meet the designer, learn about the line, try on as many pairs as you like, and maybe take home a new wardrobe staple of your own.
When: Tuesday, November 27, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Where: 1316 33rd Street NW; 800-568-8195.
