The upcoming second season of Empire will see no shortage of guest stars, including Alicia Keys, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and Marisa Tomei.
When Deadline first announced Tomei's recurring role back in July, the website revealed that her character, Mimi Whiteman, will be a lesbian: "A Forbes list billionairess, Mimi is a lover of hip hop music, social trends, high-end fashion and beautiful women."
TVLine just released the first photo of the Oscar-winning actress in character as Mimi and they're speculating that she will be getting intimate with none other than Taraji P. Henson's Cookie. We could see that, given Cookie's proud declaration of having been with women during her 17-year stint in the big house. So if we do get a Cookie-Mimi hookup, we're in for some seriously juicy drama — not to mention the launch of a whole new lexicon of Cookie Lyon-isms. The bar is high, though. What could possible top "You want Cookie's nookie, ditch the bitch"?
Or perhaps Tomei will simply play a kick-ass woman who becomes Cookie's business partner and gives the Lyon boys a run for their (piles and piles of) money. Either way, we are so there for the season 2 premiere on September 23.
