Kristen Stewart Turned Your Workwear Uniform On Its Head

In a sartorial landscape that's full of floral-printed dresses and wardrobe-malfunction-threatening cutout gowns, it's refreshing and unexpected when a starlet nails tailored separates. But a simple button-down and pleated pants are hard to make cool — if you're not headed into an office, that is. Well, folks, Kristen Stewart — who rocks a baseball cap, Converse All-Stars, and badass ‘tude like no other — just showed us how it’s done.
First, she flipped the script on that Wall Street-esque, striped, blue button-up and went with a short sleeve and cropped, double-layer shirt by Jonathan Simkhai. The bare midriff not only allows for a playful peekaboo detail; it also helps define the waistline. Instead of coordinating the top with a pair of streamlined, flat-front trousers or a softer, mid-thigh pleated short, Kristen opted for a pair of long walking shorts by L’Agence instead. Her chunky loafers — Chanel, duh — add a tough-girl edge. And, typical of her cooler-than-you vibe, Kristen finished the look with beyond-low-key extras: a trio of dainty and oh-so-pretty gold rings.
