Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of late singer Whitney Houston and musician Bobby Brown, passed away on July 26. She was 22.
According to People, the Houston family released a statement confirming the death: "Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."
The past five months have been agonizing for Brown's loved ones. On January, 31, Brown's husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend discovered Bobbi Kristina Brown facedown and unresponsive in a bathtub full of water at their Roswell, Ga., home. According to the local police department, Gordon "started CPR and a police officer took over life-saving measures until an ambulance arrived."
She never recovered from the incident and remained in a coma. In June, she was moved to hospice. Bobby Brown remained by his daughter's side, keeping vigil until she passed away yesterday.
Bobbi Kristina's death eerily mirrors her mother's tragic passing. On February 11, 2012, Houston, who was then 48, was found in a bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel. The official cause of her death was accidental drowning as a result of drug use and heart disease.
Our thoughts are with Bobbi Kristina Brown's family and friends.
