OITNB's Big Boo Has Autographed A Lot Of Screwdrivers

Remember that episode from season 1 of Orange Is the New Black when Big Boo steals a screwdriver from Piper and uses it to masturbate? Pretty unforgettable. Actress Lea DeLaria, tells Vanity Fair that her moment of on-screen self-pleasuring has become quite the surprising touchstone for fans, who often ask her to autograph their screwdrivers.

As DeLaria explains with a laugh, it all started when "I was passing Ace Hardware and this girl ran out of the store screaming, 'Big Boo! Please sign my screwdriver!'" And that was only the beginning. "Little did I know that would become a thing. I’ve signed 40 or 50 of them since the show came out, which brings me to the question, ‘Where the fuck are these screwdrivers coming from?’ Women pull them out of their purses. Is this some new accessory?"

DeLaria joined fellow OITNB cast members including Laverne Cox, Uzo Aduba, and Taylor Schilling at OrangeCon in New York City earlier this week to celebrate the prison drama's release with fans. And while we'd love to tell you more about the event, we're entirely too busy binge-watching season 3 right now. (Go ahead: Stop reading and start watching. You know you want to. We'll be right here when you're ready to talk about it.)
