J Brand Jeans Like You’ve Never Seen Them Before

When it comes to designer denim, J Brand is the go-to for classic fits — not for experimentation. It has perfected a skinny-jeans formula that's not be meddled with. Now, the label is branching out beyond traditional, blue hues thanks to a collaboration with artist Rob Pruitt.
Pruitt did what we would never dare do at home: spray-paint the cult skinnies to achieve a colorful, ombré effect, using his trademark gradients. You can see him at work in this Vogue article, for which an editor let him give her white jeans the dégradé treatment.
The artist is no stranger to designer team-ups, having worked with Jimmy Choo on a line featuring two of his signature touches: glitter and pandas. And, it's not the first time he's worked with denim — in 2006, he presented an art piece featuring cement-filled jeans at the gallery Gavin Brown's Enterprise. (The J Brands are much more wearable.)
Rob Pruitt x J Brand — sold exclusively at Barneys New York — is essentially tie-dye for grown-ups. Shop the collection ahead for some bright finds.
