Your Morning Commute Just Got A Whole Lot Prettier

As any regular straphanger knows, NYC's subways are a great place to find some serious beauty inspiration. We've done our fair share of Subway Stalking, so we know that New Yorkers can bring it, even on their morning commute. But, while the trains are rife with inspiration, it's not actually our go-to place for crafting a beauty look.
L'Oréal, in partnership with the MTA, is working to change that with the introduction of its Intelligent Color Experience. Located inside the Bryant Park subway station, this smart kiosk provides custom color recommendations and allows commuters to purchase products on-site.
To use the machine, you stand in front of the kiosk's "mirror," which scans and reads your outfit, pulling the most prevalent colors from your ensemble. It then recommends L'Oréal products that will "match" or "clash" with your ensemble, so you can decide if you want to go bold or keep things complementary. Once your products have been selected, you can then swipe your credit card at the kiosk's vending machine.
L'Oréal held a press preview of The Intelligent Color Experience yesterday, and we've got to say, it's pretty nifty. Coco Rocha was on hand to help with the ribbon cutting and demonstrate how ridiculously easy the kiosk is to use. It will open officially to the public on November 4, and be up and running through December 30, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. For the first two weeks, brand reps will be on hand to assist commuters and guide them through the system. Though, from what we saw, the entire touchscreen system is pretty intuitive. The whole process takes less than a minute, so even if you are in a rush (when are we not?) you still can test it out.
The vending machine is stocked with L'Oréal's Colour Riche line of eye and lip products, plus the brand's spankin' new Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. It will be refilled nightly, so your chances of having products sold out are slim.
Even if you're not looking to stock up on new products, we highly recommend swinging by the kiosk if you're in the station. It's a cool concept, and one we hope is taken out of the subway and into the drugstore. How much fun would drugstore shopping be if we had one of these cool gadgets to suggest the perfect products for us?
