Katy Perry’s New Song Is Upsetting The Internet

Ever since Katy Perry's new single leaked over the weekend, the World Wide Web has been abuzz — but not all of the noise has been good. It turns out that "Roar" sounds an awful lot like Sara Bareille's recent track "Brave," which hit the airwaves a full three months ago. And, to make matters worse, Perry happened to tweet about her love for the tune well in advance of her own single's release.
But we're not jumping to any conclusions just yet. We've listened to both songs repeatedly (luckily we're suckers for a catchy jam), and we're not so sure there was any intentional wrongdoing on Perry's part. Sure, the songs sound pretty similar, though no more similar than any other two pop songs sound. Both sets of lyrics preach a "you go girl" anthem, but is there such a thing as too much self-empowerment? Have a listen to "Roar" and "Brave" below, and let us know what you think. (Jezebel)
