Baby’s First Lagerfeld: Designer Gifts For Britain’s New Bundle Of Joy

Not even the royal birth was a cure for our case of baby fever. And while the youngest member of the British royal family is hardly aware of all the pomp and circumstance surrounding his arrival, he's got some very special birthday gifts on the way. At least, that was the challenge given to a slew of designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Vera Wang, and Rebecca Taylor, who sketched up their personal presents to the maybe, someday king of England.
Shared in WWD today, the sketches include a Lagerfeld-approved pacifier (a.k.a. "a royal dummy"), bitty Sachin & Babi bibs, a lullaby-ready, baby-boom box from Catherine Malandrino, and a Union Jack quilt from Nicole Miller that will drape beautifully in the royal crib. While there was no mention that these designers would actually deliver their dream items to Buckingham Palace, we're sure there will be no short supply of golden rattles, cashmere onesies, and, well, crowns, ready to welcome HRH Baby (soon to be named) home from the Lindo Wing.
