Craving A Mexican Feast To Remember? Here's The Perfect Meal

this
With summer in full swing, we tend to find ourselves craving Mexican food — margaritas included. So, what’s a Chi girl to do when the line at Big Star wraps all the way down Damen? Two words for you: Yo Soy.
Partners in life and in business, Mike Corona and Brian Riggenbach are the chefs and creative forces behind Yo Soy Underground Supper: Mexican-inspired underground suppers and events. The boys do it all, from catering intimate gatherings to planning, hosting, and cooking underground dinners. Yo Soy began when Corona and Riggenbach started cooking for friends. Four years later, the business sees some serious fiesta-action. Hungry? Here's how it works:

Once or twice a month, Corona and Riggenbach host a five-course dinner for roughly 25 to 35 people. Seats cost about $50 to $60 per person, and cuisine is always Mexican-inspired and themed — and BYOB. You can expect a musical guest at each event, ranging from a local singer-songwriter to a five-person mariachi band. But the real twist is the location. The dinners are hosted around the city in interesting and unexpected locations, and the venue isn’t revealed until the afternoon of the event — talk about keeping you on the edge of your seat! Don’t expect to get the menu out of the men either, as they relish in the surprise factor of their events.
But we will give you one hint: If you want to experience the two in action, the next underground supper is set for August 31, 2013. The theme is “Very Verano” — a tribute supper to all things summer. To reserve a seat for yourself, head to their website. Reservations are strictly first come, first serve. But don’t get discouraged if seats book up, the boys happily agreed to host another supper the following night on September 1, 2013, if the first dinner sells out, so get to it!
