Macy's And Garance Doré Team Up For A New Parisian-Inspired Line — Ooh La La!

It gets re-imagined, re-interpreted, and re-booted year after year, but Parisian style never seems to run out of gas for the fashion community. Macy's is the latest to offer an affordable take on that je ne sais quoi with the new Maison Jules private label, launching this August.
Garance Doré has also joined the project to photograph the ad campaign, showcasing the line's basic knits and flirty dresses, ranging from $17.50 for basics to about $60 for dresses. Macy's Senior VP of Marketing Nancy Slavin says the brand took inspiration from a number of quintessential French brands who've recently found a dedicated audience stateside, like Comptoir des Cotonniers, Zadig & Voltaire, Maje, and (our personal favorite) Sandro. “And while they are still limited [in] distribution, they are influencing and bringing the Parisian street style to the United States. And I think our young contemporary girl is very, very aware of these brands,” Slavin explained.

Doré shot French It Girl Jeanne Damas on location in Paris, and the collaboration was a natural success. “If you look at my blog, it’s really the type of people that I like to shoot. I think the little dress is really like what the Parisian girl would wear every day, because it’s easy," Doré told WWD.
Macy's may eventually extend the line into accessories, home goods, and even menswear. As for us, we'll be counting down the days until August to get our hands on the duds! (WWD)
