Watch: Savages Cover Dazed And Confused‘s Latest Issue

Every movement has its moment in fashion. Heck, even Pokémon had its 15 minutes. And, with Dazed and Confused's May issue celebrating tribes, cliques, and groups in all their glory, we're really seeing the comeback of the most niche microcosms of fashion.
Dazed and Confused uses post-punk girl group Savages as its muse in this feature. The idea of "style tribes" may seem foreign or even new, but we've witnessed it in so many musical movements in the past: punk, rockabillies, even the Pink Ladies, to name a few. And it's not just the Savages that are reintroducing the idea of these clique uniforms: Both the Met's Punk exhibition and the V&A's Club to Catwalk exhibit showcase the history of the trend.
As part of its appearance in Dazed and Confused, Savages reminds readers of the juxtaposition that almost always exists between music and fashion: Each is its own art form, but they are blended together to make a larger statement within one's surroundings.
Jeff Bark and Robbie Spencer's fashion party (Chanel everywhere), and a backstage interview with Rick Owens' group during Paris Fashion Week, and so much more were also featured in the May issue. Dazed's "Tribal Takeover" hits stands April 18, but for a preview of what's to come, check out the (NSFW) teaser for the aforementioned fashion party. (Dazed)
