The 2019 Billboard Music Awards are going down tonight, and while we’re sure the evening will be full of memorable performances and meme-able moments, we’re here to discuss all the looks that slayed the red carpet.
In years past, the BBMAs have brought out some of the more, shall we say, interesting ensembles from our favourite artists and musicians. Unlike other awards shows, the BBMAs are a little more laid-back, so we tend to see outfits that are experimental and playful.
This year is proving to be no different, with stars like Taylor Swift and Cardi B stepping onto the red carpet in creations that are maybe slightly out-there, but statement-making nonetheless. Ahead, we’re recapping the looks of the night that totally stole the show.

Taylor Swift

The “Me!” singer wore a long-sleeve, ruffled mini dress that gave off some serious ice skater vibes. All that's missing is an ice rink. Taylor is nothing if not consistent, and the dress' lavender shade fit right in with the candy-coloured aesthetic she’s been pushing lately. Like it or not, her pastel era is here to stay.

Cardi B

The "Bodak Yellow" rapper gave that song a whole new meaning when she hit the red carpet wearing a bright yellow two-piece number complete with glittering embellishments. In true Cardi fashion, her nails matched perfectly.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner looks like she's ready to go to the moon — literally. The Game of Thrones star strutted down the red carpet wearing a slightly futuristic silver jumpsuit with multicoloured and multidimensional elements by Louis Vuitton. She accessorized with a sleek black belt. We would've loved if she added Sansa's necklace to this look as well, but we're not complaining.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas

The newlyweds were all smiles on the red carpet. Priyanka sparkled in a glitzy white gown with a thigh-high slit, while Nick went for a '70s-inspired plaid suit and matching smoking loafers.

Halsey embraced the thigh-high slit trend in a strapless electric blue gown featuring sheer black paneling. She opted for sleek black stilettos to top off the bold look. And we can't forget that dark lip — our favourite part of her look TBH.

BTS stepped out in a mostly monochromatic palette, with the majority of the band wearing classic dark navy suits with a few patterned blazers mixed in. The classic suits were the perfect complement to their rainbow of brightly-coloured hairstyles.

Kiernan Shipka

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star channeled Sabrina's go to colours of red and black in this mixed pattern frock. The exaggerated sleeves and strappy black stilettos helped elevate her perfectly playful ensemble.

Kevin Jonas and Danielle Jonas

Like his younger brother Nick, Kevin went more nontraditional on the red carpet in a gray suit with cream stripes. His wife Danielle got the thigh-high slit memo, too, and opted for this strapless sequin number.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria looks ready to party in this flirty frock with a high-low hem. The actress topped off her structured dress with matching peep toe pumps.

Cobie showed up in one of the best looks of the night, choosing an embellished silver dress with a plunging neckline which she smartly paired with a bold pink lip.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson looked stunning in a sheer, ruffled black gown cinched with a double-buckle belt to add some edge. And the best part of this look? She traded in the typical stiletto sandal for a kickass pair of black boots.
