The days are getting darker, we've pulled our trench coats out from under the bed, and there's a slight chill in the air. With the transition into autumn (and winter around the corner) comes an opportunity to revamp your look. EdwardsAndCo colour expert Jaye Edwards tells Refinery29 Australia that this year we'll see plenty of rich and warm hair colours, along with graduate bobs and sculpted curls. "We're moving into a really beautiful phase of natural, lived-in colour: think sunset blondes, burnt copper tones, lavish brunettes and deep shades that look expensive," Edwards says. "Clients are asking for colour that feels effortless and low-maintenance, but still polished."

This means high contrast blonding and heavy balayage are out, while soft and seamless blends are in. "It's very 'your hair, but elevated'," Edwards adds. "Glossy, dimensional, and tailored to the cut. When the colour works with the cut, that's when it really shines." Below, we'll delve into three colour trends and three cuts that will be everywhere this autumn.
Sunset Blonde
"This colour is trending this season, and is inspired by the tones of golden hour," Edwards says. The idea of "sunset blonde" is to create both a soft warmth while maintaining natural dimension. Edwards recommends using CØR.restore Colour Lock Milk, and CØR.Restore Leave-In Treatment to keep your hair feeling salon-fresh at home.
Lavish Brunette
Going brunette for autumn has never been so tempting. This look by @xavierteyletche is the definition of "lavish brunette", with glossy, multidimensional brown tones. "Think espresso, melted chocolate and warm toffee ribbons layered with subtle highlights to create depth, shine and an expensive looking, light-catching finish," Edwards says. "My favourite product for styling brunette hair is the O&M Dry Queen Brunette Dry Shampoo, this adds life to your blowout with volume and a brunette tint."
Burnt Copper
"Burnt copper" is inspired by Emma Stone, and it's a trend that really comes alive in autumn. "[The] hair trend blends rich auburn and smouldering red tones for a glossy, dimensional finish that feels both bold and effortlessly chic," Edwards says. This colour is high-maintenance, so if you try it, the colour expert recommends the O&M CLEAN.tone Copper Colour Treatment to keep it looking fresh at home.

Graduate Bob
If you're trying to grow out your pixie cut or micro bob, the "graduate bob" is for you. "It's elevated and classic," Edwards says. "This look is all about growing out your hair to that graduate length, so scalp care is essential." Try AMPERNA Cleanse & Rebalance Dermal Care Shampoo and Strengthen & Protect Dermal Care Conditioner for healthy hair growth.
Vanilla Gloss
If you're obsessed with Love Story, you might want to try this Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy-inspired "vanilla gloss" style. "For the full CBK look, you want to enhance your vanilla blonde with an effortlessly smooth blowdry with project smooth by O&M," Edwards says. "The PS Balm will give you that perfect base to achieve Carolyn's effortlessly undone look."
Sculptured Curls
Whether you're a new curly girl thanks to a perm, or want to enhance your natural curls, autumn is all about making sure they look sculptured and defined. "I have seen an increase in clients wanting to enhance their natural curls," Edwards says. "My favourite curl styling products include the Curl Curl Cream and Curl Curl Gel by O&M."
