Chicago Fashion Fest Takes Style To The Streets

We’ve always known that Chi-town has got some serious sartorial chops, but this weekend it’s taking “street style” to a whole new level. Chicago Fashion Fest is taking fashion to the streets with a five-block smorgasbord of fashion and food along Division Street. On August 17 and 18, from 12 to 10 p.m., a runway stage with live music will showcase the work of Chicago’s best creatives, with local boutiques, designers, and artists showing what’s hot for fall. Twenty themed shows will take place over the two-day event, ranging from vintage, bridal, and a special Do-Fashion block showing off the best boutiques.
By day, enjoy a nail bar and hair-styling tent or stroll along Shopper’s Row, a stretch of 50 booths and food vendors. By night, be sure to take part in Wicker Park After Dark, an after-hours red-carpet extravaganza. A $5 donation entry is encouraged and proceeds will go to local school programs — which kinda gives “back to school” a whole new meaning.
