Cameron Mesirow (also known as Glasser) has a voice so intense she tends to overwhelm any melody she's paired with. That said, supreme credit should go to John Talabot whose sunny house number “Families” uses Mesirow as a helpful asset rather than the front-and-center. “Families” is certainly inspired by an endless summer vibe; It whips along like a warm Spanish wind, effortless in its employment of drum pads, hand claps, and Balearic synths. Mesirow’s voice brings it all together as she floats along, light as air. (Gorilla vs Bear)
