It’s comforting that as LCD Soundsystem continue their extended farewell, we have audible evidence that their label DFA will go on releasing the disco punk bangers that, for many, defined the music of the last decade. Enter:
Holy Ghost!
, whose first LP is looking to deliver on the enormous promise shown by their early singles. While "Wait & See" doesn’t attempt to recreate the icy groove of “Hold On” (probably a good thing; “Hold On” is a certified classic at this point), the song is by no means a disappointment. Smooth synth is echoed by laid-back vocals that effectuate an infectious groove. "Wait & See" is beautifully constructed pop that proves DFA without LCD may not be losing its edge after all.
