Du Nord's “The Sunset" begins with a quietly plucked guitar floating over the hiss of analog tape. There’s something beautifully cut-and-paste about the 1960s-inspired melody and muffled beat, as if the Paris-based band assembled the track from papier-mâché. It's a song that would sit nicely alongside the summery pop of acts like Real Estate and Memory Tapes, whose music is the perfect addition to bonfires and sunbathing. "Du Nord" may be French for north, but "The Sunset" will have you looking west for more beautiful music on the horizon.
