Read more Improvements: I Purchased the first generation that had the Velcro but wanted the zipper. I love the simple in an out with the zipper. The only thing I miss from the 1st gen with Velcro, is the flap at bottom. There should be a two-way zipper on this blanket because it presses too much on the top of the feet. having a zipper opening on bottom corner would allow to unzip bottom when the rest of blanket is zipped to allow more room for feet so they are not pressed down.
