This Is Our Jam Premieres: Rush Midnight, “The Night Was Young Enough (Chad Valley Remix)”

Rush Midnight (a.k.a. Russell Manning) is probably best known as the former bassist for sleek hair-do'd romantic Twin Shadow. His new solo EP, +1 (out October 30 via Cascine), is similarly enchanted with '80s vibes and even features production from Twin Shadow himself.
To celebrate the release, Rush Midnight's first single — the funk-tinged "The Night Was Young" — has been remixed by his label mate Chad Valley, who smooths over the bassline, rounds the track's edges, and ads a low-key house beat. The result is silky-smooth pop that's even more tailored to a trip to makeout hill. Now, if only dad would let you borrow his car...
New Yorkers can catch both Rush Midnight and Chad Valley at the Cascine + Ghostly International Showcase tonight at Le Baron.
