Once A Working-Girl Staple, Pleated Trousers Get a High-Style Makeover

A favorite among soccer moms and the corporate set, pleated pants have always been notoriously unfashionable. Whether it's the nipped waist and balloon-hip combo of the dreaded mom jean or water cooler-approved Dockers, it seemed unfathomable that pleats—aside from Issey Miyake's, of course—would ever see a high-fashion makeover. That was until now. Lately, pleats having been having a super stylish Second Coming thanks to chic, slouchy shapes that have replaced the exaggerated ill-fitting silhouettes of yesteryear. Seen both on the street and in select stores, we've scoured our top shops and blogs for the former no-no that now has us all kinds of obsessed.
