Dirty Projectors, 4 Knots Music Festival, And More Shows To Catch This Week

Dirty Projectors, Wye Oak, Purity Ring: July 10, Prospect Park Bandshell, $30
Dirty Projectors' brand of impossible-to-define indie pop keeps getting better with each record – and their new album, Swing Lo Magellan, should go down as one of the year’s best. Also playing is Baltimore’s Wye Oak, and the gorgeously-warped pop duo, Purity Ring.
Tuesday, July 10, 6 p.m. Prospect Park Bandshell, Prospect Park West (between 10th and 11th streets); Brooklyn.
4Knots Music Festival: Archers of Loaf, The Drums, Crocodiles, Hospitality, Bleached, Nick Waterhouse, Devin, Doldrums, Team Spirit: July 14, South Street Seaport, Pier 17, FREE
This Saturday, head down to South Street Seaport for an afternoon of rock ‘n roll, courtesy of the 4Knots Music Festival, presented by the Village Voice. Headlining is ‘90s indie group, Archers of Loaf, supported by a host of the best guitar-heavy bands of the moment.
Saturday, July 14, 1 p.m. South Street Seaport.
Codeine, Animal Hospital: July 15, (le) Poisson Rouge, $15
With a name like Codeine, it’s no surprise that these New York City shoegazers made some of the most blissfully bummed-out tunes of the early ‘90s. Celebrating the reissue of their first three records, the band has revived their signature blend of feedback and dreamy vocals for a new generation.
Sunday, July 15, 8 p.m. (le) Poisson Rouge,158 Bleecker Street (between Thompson and Sullivan streets); 212-353-3474.
Up for more? Here are some bonus shows:

July 14: The Black Lips play the 4Knots afterparty at Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club.
July 14: Tycho plays Webster Hall.
July 14: Matthew Dear plays (le) Poisson Rouge.
