Musician’s Paradise: Bob Dylan’s Malibu Shangri-La For Sale

Singer-songwriter Bob Dylan defied existing pop conventions with his music and his home, named "Shangri-La Ranch" by actress Margo Albert, differing from the standard over-the-top rockstar mansions seen on TV. The residence, which includes his recording studio designed by Rob Fraboni, was described by The Band drummer, Levon Helm, as "a clubhouse and studio where we and our friends could record albums and cross-pollinate one another's music." The modestly decorated four-bedroom, three-bathroom home appears to be designed as a place where band-mates could hang out in-between recording with the pool table, half-circle bar, and park-bench-style kitchen table. The historical Shangri-La Ranch has recently been renovated and put up for sale, the first time in 30 years, for $3.195 million. The aptly named home looks like a musician's paradise, and, hopefully, the prospective owner will be another musician who's in it for the music, not the fame. (HuffPo)
