On Monday, the weather sure sucked, but the scene at the spring '11 Michael Bastian show was steamy. We overheard one editor declare the crowd as "a gay man's wet dream," and truth be told, their was a lot of "10s" in the room. Of course, Bastian may have the best casting eye in the biz—every year he snags the hottest of the hot to model his refined, preppy-with-an-edge collections. The theme this year was sort of scuba dandy and aesthetic Bastian applied to his latest collaboration, a new, limited-edition range of flip flops for Havaianas. The Michael Bastian + Havaianas Collection features four styles inspired by two motifs that sailed down the runway—deep sea exploration and some leopard and camo prints. We peeped them on the runway and backstage, where shirtless models in short-shorts and open shirts made us kinda wish that summer hadn't ended. The collection, priced at $48, will hit stores in March—just in time for a little getaway for some scuba diving and six-packs.
