LOL Boys have been bouncing around the Internet for a while now, releasing tracks assembled via email from its Montreal and LA homes (the members have never recorded together IRL). With its inarguably silly band name, it makes sense that LOL Boys' music would reflect its Gchat production technique, and its recent mix for The Fader in particular is a product of the duo's cloistered whims, from Kreayshawn to Fiona Apple. LOL Boys' best song, though, is “Changes” – a mix of jazzy drums and sax, with a refrain that has taken up permanent residence in our hook-hungry brains. Now, with an accompanying video featuring lip-syncing friends on webcam in a possible ode to “Call Me Maybe," LOL Boys have put the final touches on a track whose DNA already oozed Internet culture. It's bass music 2.0, where the dance party is just a click away.
