Boho Bundling! Wrap Up In This Indie Artist’s Chic Tie-Dyed Scarves

If you're a fledgling indie designer, how do you get a bricks-and-mortar shop to stock your creations? Well, if you're Cleveland Park-based designer Jennifer Miller, the answer is simple: Walk into eco-chic boutique Carbon wearing one of your tie-dyed cowl scarves. The rest is retail history.
Entirely handmade using natural and locally sourced materials, each of Miller's insanely comfy-cool pieces can be worn as a hood, belted tunic, vest, or cowl scarf, or simply be draped around the neck. These pieces are a fashion feat for their versatility alone, and we love the updated take on tie-dye, to boot — but what we love most is that the creator is one of Washington's own.

Head to Carbon on Saturday to meet the stylish designer at her trunk show, where she'll debut a new design inspired by a recent trip to Aruba. “I’m incorporating a little bit of my island adventure into this new collection of scarves, so people can feel warm and cozy for winter, but also feel that tropical laid-back island spirit,” she says. Miller notes that she will be crafting furiously until Saturday, and hopes to bring a limited number of the new additions to the trunk show. Translation: Get there early.
When: Saturday, November 12, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Carbon, 2643 Connecticut Avenue NW; 202-232-6645.
