James Blake, Chairlift, Webster Hall, $25
Post-dubstep wunderkind James Blake brings his angelic falsetto and bass-heavy ballads back to NYC two nights this week. Wednesday’s massive show at Webster Hall also features electro-pop stalwarts Chairlift opening. Unfortunately, Blake’s NYC appearances sold out immediately, but if you show a little initiative you’re bound to rustle something up for just about face value. Here’s looking at you, Craigslist.

Austra, Light Asylum, Bowery Ballroom, $15
Katie Stelmanis has an ear for hooks, a voice few can match, and an infectious goth-pop sound —a combination that make Austra one of the most compelling artists making music today. Openers, Light Asylum, may only have one EP to their name, but play every show like the rock stars they're destined to become.

We already recommended heading to New Jersey to see Twin Shadow and Diamond Rings play about a month ago, but then #Irene happened, the show sold out, and (like we said) you would have had to make it to Hoboken. Well here’s your second chance to get a taste of George Lewis Jr. and John O’Regan’s scintillating synth-pop assault. Don’t forget your pomade.
