I Love My … English Sports Shop Blue Blazer

Brian Murphy is the CFO of much-loved shoe brand Loeffler Randall that he started with his wife Jessie. He also oversees all branding at the company. Brian grew up outside Chicago and lives in Brooklyn with Jessie, their three children, and their Chihuahua, Romeo.
"Wearing shorts with more formal attire takes a bit of preppy, happy-go-lucky swagger that can be a touch difficult to pull of in the United States—especially in your later 30s. Not so on the island of Bermuda. Business-appropriate oxford cloth shirt? Check. Blue blazer? Check. Tie, dark colored knee-socks, and black dress shoes? Check, check, and check. Wildly colored pair of shorts in...I don’t know, hot coral? Maybe lemon? Check and double check. These guys pull this off and look ready to cut a million dollar business deal at the same time—like a spiffed up Angus Young.
"The English Sports shop is ground zero for Bermudian men’s fashion and where I quickly snapped up this prep school throwback blazer with regal, red silk lining and jangly golden buttons—super posh. Not only is it a portable filo-fax (canine Tramadol prescription, Verizon bill, Saturday’s Surf receipt) it also can make anything I wear acceptable at work (dirty Pro-Keds, grass-stained jeans and blue button-down). Literally, anything—even over a jean-on-jean tuxedo—can be done.
"I still struggle with the blazer and shorts meme. Maybe another trip to Bermuda would steel my nerves for the summer ahead—God knows I love coral shorts."
