A Vending Machine That Carries Ferraris, Gold Handcuffs, And Ouija Boards

hudson-hotel-vending-machine-big
Don't look for Diet Coke and Doritos at the vending machine at the Hudson Hotel. Christened "Semi-Automatic, " this baby continues the trend started at the Standard, with a luxe-list of offerings that aren't $1.29. A twist on the typical gift-shop, the machine has reinvented the experience with a glammed-up range of typical travel necessities—kits by Malin+Goetz, Paul Smith toothbrushes—with products that are more Colette than Comfort Inn. Less typical—Pamela Love's dagger rosary, 24k gold handcuffs by Kiki De Montparnasse, and an original T-shirt created exclusively for the Hudson by Sophomore's Chrissie Miller. And if your wallet is feeling super heavy, you can rent a red Ferrari 599 GTB from Gotham Dream Cars or get a personal portrait shot with Ben Watts. Prices range from $4 to $10,000, but if your spending that much cash-money, we're not sure why you don't have an NYC pad yet.
