The "everyone's a winner" mentality usually only applies to reality-TV scenarios like America's Next Top Model and Top Chef when Tyra and Padma say things like, "You're also safe," or, "We couldn't decide! Congratulations — you've both won!" And at Gotham's Independent Film Awards ceremony hosted by the lovely Oscar-winning Natatie Portman, this same inclusive, jubilant indecisiveness named both
Tree Of Life
and
The Beginners
as the year's Best Feature Film(s). This is the one time we're actually surprised by the too-close-to-call call, and are pretty pleased by it. Other winners included the beautiful Felicity Jones as best Breakthrough Actor for Like Crazy, and a Gotham Tribute to Charlize Theron, among others. If this is a preview of what the Oscars will be like this year, everyone should start prepping those acceptance speeches. Who are your film favorites for the big awards to come this spring?
