As one of the few events globally that attract the world’s most talented EDM acts, Winter Music Conference marks the opportunity for many up-and-comers to have their chance at spinning stardom. W’s Global Music Director, Michaelangelo L’acqua, recognized this opportunity to assemble talent and provide an outlet for them to showcase their skills. Last year, W Hotels and Burn Studios — a music platform created under the name of Coca-Cola’s popular energy drink — created DJ Lab, a program helmed by the hotel to help rising DJs reach their full potential (and audience) by assigning mentors to each participant. A sort of "DJ bootcamp," if you will.

The 2012 program is set to kick off after Michaelangelo L’acqua announces this year’s mentors tonight during the exclusive event taking place at the Belve Music Lounge at W South Beach. Afterwards, the W is hosting a killer cocktail party featuring music by two of last season’s burn Lab DJs, Angus Wong and Miaou Mix. While this is an invite-only party, you can see and hear these DJs spin their stuff while sipping signature martinis made exclusively for the event. Not only will you rub shoulders with tip-top industry gunners, but you'll be able to impress a pal with your ability to score some hot tickets during MMW.
