Cool Down With One Of The DC Jazz Festival’s 100 Shows

jazzslide
Memorial Day came and went, and left the blazing sun and stifling humidity behind — ouch. That's why we’re excited to kick off summer in a majorly cool way with the DC Jazz Festival. This annual music fest (the biggest in the nation) rolls out the red carpet for summer with some serious swank.
Now through June 10, you can catch more than 100 jazz performances at venues large and small all around the city. Partly an homage to the great Duke Ellington, who was born and raised in the District, the festival is designed to inspire a broader love of jazz among new demographics, promote music education for D.C. students, and mark the District as a vibrant cultural destination.

We predict all kinds of vibrancy (and dancing) will take place at some of the festival’s signature performances, including Jazz Meets the Classics at the Kennedy Center, Jazz at The Hamilton, and Jazz at The Howard Theater. So, if you’re in the mood for a swanky evening any time in the next week, look no further than all that jazz happening right in your 'hood.
When: Now through June 10.
Where: Venues throughout Washington. Click here for a calendar of events; get tickets here.
