Your Saturday Agenda: Celebrate Bastille Day Like A Parisian Pro

French kiss, French braid, French manicure, French fashion — we know and love them. Seeing as how France’s national holiday — called Bastille Day — is tomorrow, it's a fine time to celebrate like a good Francophile. Here in the District, with our bounty of international citizens, you know there will be some fetes and soirées happening. Lucky for you, we've got the lowdown on where to go; all you need is a Coco-inspired getup.
The French Embassy is getting in on the fun tonight with a classy celebration of food, fun, music, and dance. We hear the buffet will include food from Citronelle and Ris — ooh la la!
Tomorrow, L’Enfant Cafe is having their eighth annual Bastille Day Street Bash, complete with a French-maid race, a food-truck pavilion, a beer garden, and D.C.’s largest masquerade street ball.
The Alliance Française will also host an all-day French festival tomorrow at the Hillwood Museum. Think games, theater, and family fun.
For the foodies out there, master chef Michel Richard celebrates on Saturday at Central with dinner specials and 15% off all bottles of French wine on the menu. And, if you’re still feeling the vibe after dinner, head to the famed Bastille Day party at Bistro du Coin to dance the night away.
Finally, seeing how this is a French holiday, we can't forget to mention bread. Paul Bakery is hosting their second annual baguette relay race on Saturday morning.
