TV on the Radio, Broken Social Scene, September 8, The Williamsburg Waterfront, $39.50
If you aren’t caught up in the hoopla of Fashion’s Night Out, Perennial indie rock heavyweights TV on the Radio and Broken Social Scene play the Williamsburg waterfront the same night. Both bands have honed their anthemic live sets to perfection, and together the bill is a stadium-worthy celebration that will make you forget that summer really is over.
Thursday, September 8 at 5:30p.m. The Williamsburg Waterfront, North 8th Street at Kent Avenue; Brooklyn.
Active Child, Com Truise, Young Athletes League, September 6, Bowery Ballroom, $15
If your idea of a good time is the sonic equivalent of being trapped inside an ‘80s Atari game (it’s definitely ours!), then you’ll want to check out this bill at the Bowery Ballroom. The analog synth extravaganza is headlined by the squelchy, cathartic tones of Active Child with support from spooneristic synthesizer fetishist Com Truise.
Saturday, September 10 at Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street (between Bowery and Chrystie); 212-533-2111

Up for more? Here are some bonus shows:
We know it’s late notice (sorry for celebrating America’s workforce!) but if you can make it out to Hoboken tonight, you’ll get a supremely smooth dose of new wave-y synths and infectious electro grooves from George Lewis Jr. and John O’Regan (aka Twin Shadow and Diamond Rings). Looks like it’s sold out :( but you can always check Craigslist, September 6.
Also tonight, Les Savvy Fav and Oberhofer play the Music Hall of Williamsburg, September 6.
If you’re an NYU student, or can fake it convincingly, Flying Lotus, Gang Gang Dance, and Light Asylum are playing what’s sure to be an amazing show at (le) poisson rouge, September 8.
Also Thursday (as if you needed anything else to do), Ducktails, Greatest Hits, Family Portrait, and others play Glasslands, September 8.
