As anyone who was in New York this past weekend can attest, the weather was gorgeous. Like, truly gorgeous: It finally felt like spring. Many took this opportunity to whip out the pastels and floral prints waiting patiently in the back of their closets. Zoë Kravitz — the epitome of cool — had something different in mind. What does the hippest girl on the block wear on the first true day of spring? All black, duh. And, not just any monochromatic ensemble: The look was mostly Alexander Wang, fresh off the fall runway.
With a weekend at Coachella behind her, Zoë left the desert (and colorful clothes) behind to attend the Tribeca Film Festival. The actress and musician stopped by the Apple Store in Soho on Sunday to promote her new film, Good Kill, with co-stars January Jones and Ethan Hawke, and director Andrew Niccol. Her look was all business: remastered pinstripes with a downtown edge, a light-yet-sleek coat for the occasional wind gust, and buckled sandals that are not for the faint of heart. With an eye toward spring trends, Kravitz perched a Coach bucket bag on her shoulder, a nod to the handbag of the season.
Maybe spring colors are overrated after all — we won't blame ourselves for receding to our all-black routine once in a while. You, too, can copy Zoë's springtime look, below.
