As far as college debuts go, Mount St. Joseph freshman Lauren Hill's was emotional. And, inspiring. And, hey, pretty badass, too.
The blonde in the #22 jersey scored the first points of the game with a layup. She received a standing ovation and was awarded the game ball after her team won 65-55. She was presented with the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award. She even had pro athletes such as Brittney Griner, Devon Still, and Amar'e Stoudemire cheering her on.
Sadly, this afternoon's game — Hill's first — will also be her last. The teen has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, which resulted in the NCAA making a rare exception to push up her team's season opener so that she could realize her dream of being a college player.

Hill's story and the #LayupForLauren charity movement created in her honor have made her a celebrity of sorts in the sports community. Countless teams and athletes — click through to see her fans — have shown their support. No pressure for a first-timer, then.
"Let's not this call this my last game," Hill said in a pre-game interview. "Let's call this my first collegiate game."
