If you think Miley Cyrus invented the twerking craze think again. This dance phenomenon has been a huge part of the hip hop scene for years. And, twerking now has its own U.K. champion, Mizz Versatile, to show all of us how to shake it with the best of them.
JumpOff TV crowned the 19-year-old in November at a competition held in London. Versatile may have been dancing for years, but she is pleased that Cyrus brought twerking into the mainstream: “It’s a good thing because before Miley did that, a lot of people had negative views on it. It wasn’t really positive. They said it was bad for women because they’re showing themselves up," she explains. "Now that Miley has come out with it the tension has eased a little. It just looks like fun.”
